Books for Ministering to Hindus

When asked what book they would give to a Hindu student with a mild interest in Christianity, experienced ISM workers made the following suggestions:

The Bible: “The Message” Remix or similarly easily readable paraphrase version.

God of the Untouchables; by Dave Hunt; Fleming Revell, 1976.

Death of a Guru: A Remarkable True Story of one Man’s Search for Truth; Rabindranath R Maharaj and Dave Hunt; original copyright is 1977; Harvest House Publishers, 1984; but there are other editions.

Mimosa; by Amy Carmichael; reprinted by CLC Ministries 2005, but available in several editions.

Wisdom of the Sadhu: Teachings of Sundar Singh; by Sundar Singh, edited by Kim Comer; Plough Publishing House, 2000.

You can read it in its entirety online at http://www.plough.com/ebooks/pdfs/WisdomSadhu.pdf.

Sadhu Sundar Singh: A Biography of the Remarkable Indian Disciple of Jesus Christ; by Phyllis Thompson; OM Publishing, 1992.

Note that Sundar Singh was a Sikh, not a Hindu. But his family was deeply influenced by the traditional Hindu scriptures.

Jesus Among Other Gods: The Absolute Claims of the Christian Message; by Ravi Zacharias; W Publishing Group, a Division of the Thomas Nelson, Inc., 2002.

All of these books are available at www.amazon.com.
